Jenna

Jenna slowly limped home, dragging her feet across the cold pavement. A sharp pain struck her every time she put pressure on her swollen broken ankle. Her vision blurred through her tear filled eyes, bruised with a dark shade of purple. She grasped her stomach in agonizing pain as she stood there on her welcome mat in front of her home. Jenna took a deep breath to face her mother and hesitantly turns the knob. “I’m home mom” she said under her breath. Her mother walked up to her for a hug, but froze when she got a glimpse of Jenna’s fragile, beaten figure. Her eyes widened in confusion and fear. “I’m okay. I just fell.” Jenna responded to her mother’s frightful expression. She turned around and made her way into her bedroom, locked the door, and melted to the floor. Jenna was on her knees, unable to hold herself up. She shriveled into a ball of hopelessness and sobbed endlessly. She hated herself. She hated the fact that she was incapable of telling her own mother that three schoolmates had tortured her behind a building after-school  Two grabbed her long black hair, while the other repeatedly pounded her face with rock hard fists. The physical pain was excruciating, but their words pierced and ripped her heart apart. "You're so annoying, you worthless piece of trash. Why don't you just kill yourself, so we don't have to do it? Stupid, ugly, fat whore!" At that moment, Jenna wanted more than anything to stop living.
